Job Purpose
 
To assist the Integrated Marketing and Communications Manager (VP) in the effective delivery and enablement of strategic integrated communications and marketing initiatives for a product, customer segment or business area, with the purpose of enhancing the relationships, reputation and business results of the ABSA Group amongst its customers and stakeholders. To assist in the provision of specific marketing and communication solutions that will deliver strategically integrated and customer relevant initiatives to their Business Units. To effectively assist in the management of the marketing and communication activities of RBB MCR, in conjunction with the segment teams, product teams and RBB MCR Specialists, that will create awareness, preference, usage and loyalty for the ABSA brand and achieve business outcomes.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Strategic
 
  • Assist the VP in the alignment of the RBB marketing and communication strategies for all marketing and communication initiatives, in conjunction with segment, product heads and RBB MCR Specialists, to ensure alignment with the ABSA brand positioning, business objectives and results
  • To ensure that external and internal RBB MCR marketing and communications are consistent, aligned and support the RBB MCR strategy
  • Participate in the development in the execution of integrated and approved marketing and communication strategies and plans for the target market within RBB and across the ABSA Group as a whole
  • To provide an end-to-end internal and external communications and marketing support function, to promote ABSA, RBB and its strategic business objectives
     
    Delivery
     
  • Assist the VP in the delivery of strategically aligned and market relevant marketing and communication initiatives that will drive business goals and objectives and will ensure awareness, understanding and acceptance of strategic and operational imperatives for RBB SA and the ABSA Group as a whole
  • Participate and assist the VP in the optimisation of the marketing and communication process to positively impact integration across RBB, MCR and the ABSA Group
  • Participate in the delivery of marketing and communications activities to ensure maximum exposure and awareness of RBB and the ABSA Group
  • Assist the VP in the conceptualisation and delivery of RBB marketing and comms campaigns to build the RBB OM and ABSA brand
  • Participate in the conceptualisation and delivery of RBB campaigns, to improve the ABSA retail brand
  • Participate in driving the integrated marketing plan as well as the internal and external communication plans
  • Ensure consistent adherence to RBB MCR brand guidelines across all activities and ensure a consistent and correct reflection of the RBB MCR brand within the BU and ABSA as a whole
  • Manage the daily execution of campaigns to ensure that all planned timelines are met, all activities executed smoothly and professionally within agreed budget parameters
  • Adhere to and manage the co-ordination of marketing and communication activities across internal and external platforms and maintain the marketing and communication process and channels within the business to improve the flow of information and the effectiveness of communication within RBB MCR and the Group
  • Participate in the networking of relationships with the relevant heads of the RBB business as well as the Group and provide appropriate advice on which marketing and communication activities will best suit their BU strategies
  • Ensure that all the tools of the marketing mix are used in the most effective way to influence specific target audiences by drawing on specialist RBB MCR and Group MCR resources
  • Plan, develop and publish required messaging and communications through a variety of channels
  • Participate in holistic thinking about how media channels can work together to achieve communication objectives and identify the appropriate marketing and communication channels to drive initiatives and ensure optimal delivery and placement
  • Conduct research and review to determine the relevance of the marketing and communication plans in line with the current business strategy
  • Present research findings to the, VP, BU and other key stakeholders responsible for the executing of the RBB business strategies
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships that inspire trust and respect, that will enhance knowledge and bring best practice into RBB.
  • Build clear, measurable targets into campaign plans and ensure detailed, accurate reporting
  • Drive process, governance, budgets, ensuring requirements are met and manage project finances
  • Manage the campaign marketing spend
  • Ensure adherence to all RBB MCR values at all times

    Minimum Requirements
     
    Qualifications
     
  • Relevant B Degree or equivalent NQF level qualification or higher in
  • Marketing, Communication and PR Management
     
    Experience Requirements
     
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in corporate marketing and communications,
  • Previous exposure and experience in the assistance of translating strategy into a winning integrated marketing and communications approach
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices governing organisational marketing and communications and is able to apply this to the practical execution of initiatives within RBB MCR
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing and communications
  • Brand management experience in a corporate environment
  • Experience in working with advertising, event, PR and related agencies
  • Exposure and experience at lower-management level in the corporate communications field or PR Agency environment
     
    Preferred Requirements
     
  • Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status.
